The Power of Detachment –An act of Extraordinary Love

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Devotion is the detachment from everything else except the beloved. It emanates from the depth of the heart and expects nothing but love.
Extraordinary Love is the ability to love for the sake of love without expecting anything in return. It is the expression of love with utmost devotion towards the people in our lives. In my book The Seven Symphonies of Extraordinary Love I discuss the seven different types of love that we as human beings get to role-play in our lives. It is the practical expression of divinity that exists in each one of us as we engage in life.

Contrary to the popular meaning associated with love that deals with feelings, emotions and body sensations, I propose a different kind of love called Extraordinary Love. Extraordinary Love which is higher awareness, a state of consciousness has its foundation in unconditional love with devotion. It provides an ability to shield oneself from the chains of pain, misery and suffering and to create a state of joy, freedom and peace of mind.

The artist who engages the world with this kind of love is an extraordinary lover. An extraordinary lover exhibits qualities of humility, compassion and honor. The mind of an extraordinary lover is strong and deep like that of an ocean. He exhibits mental toughness with single-minded focus to be present wherever he is. He lets go of the past while bringing nothing but a listening for greatness and commitment to a conversation.

The Art of Giving

“Rivers do not drink their own water, nor do tree eat their own fruit, nor do rain clouds eat the grains reared by them.

The wealth of the noble is used solely for the benefit of others

Even after accepting that giving is good and that one must learn to give, several questions need to be answered..

Don’t Give Up!

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

A Short Story:

One day a farmer’s donkey fell into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway – it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to scoop dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realizing what was happening, cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he became quiet.

The mojo effect : Why President Obama won a Nobel Prize?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

This is unprecedented – a sitting President in office less than 10 months is given a Nobel peace prize. What is that mojo effect that had the world to stand up and take notice of President Obama? Can this quality be modeled?

The answer is an emphatic Yes! And more so, the world would be a better place, if people worked on developing this trait. How so?

Consider, it’s not the policies or the politics of President Obama that has made him the most popular President with high approval ratings not only in the US but around the World. It is who is Being in the world – a beacon of hope, inspiration and aspiration that draws people to him, like moth to a flame.

The Art of Self Management

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

As I took some time over the weekend to journal and reflect on previous week’s events and outcomes, my heightened awareness unconcealed new distinctions. It became glaringly obvious that insights and knowledge by itself don’t give us the quality of life, or the breakthroughs that we want in our life. A case in point – everyone on this planet who ever reads a book on loving relationships or becoming a millionaire would accomplish just that. However, that’s not the case as we know.

Tip: Knowledge is not power, application of knowledge is

Law of Attraction – When does it not work?

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The Law of attraction over the last few years has gotten lot of press, and rightly so because it’s message and promise is very enticing to say the least. At the most fundamental level, the law states that ‘Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it will manifest’. The universe is really a reflection of our mind, our deepest beliefs. It doesn’t get a joke – if your beliefs state that it cannot be done or cannot be had, you are right and that’s how it will go.

Dealing with uncertainty: – The art of failing forward

Monday, September 28th, 2009

As we take on more responsibilities, set bigger goals, and restore Integrity in our communications and work habits, it may seem like things are falling apart. The mood may reflect that of overwhelm and it could get very tempting to slip into old habits of business as usual. After all, everything was quite comfortable before, so why fix something that ain’t broken, would be the conversation track you will hear over and over again in your monologue.

Some other enticing monologues might include:
