The Power of Detachment –An act of Extraordinary Love

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Devotion is the detachment from everything else except the beloved. It emanates from the depth of the heart and expects nothing but love.
Extraordinary Love is the ability to love for the sake of love without expecting anything in return. It is the expression of love with utmost devotion towards the people in our lives. In my book The Seven Symphonies of Extraordinary Love I discuss the seven different types of love that we as human beings get to role-play in our lives. It is the practical expression of divinity that exists in each one of us as we engage in life.

Contrary to the popular meaning associated with love that deals with feelings, emotions and body sensations, I propose a different kind of love called Extraordinary Love. Extraordinary Love which is higher awareness, a state of consciousness has its foundation in unconditional love with devotion. It provides an ability to shield oneself from the chains of pain, misery and suffering and to create a state of joy, freedom and peace of mind.

The artist who engages the world with this kind of love is an extraordinary lover. An extraordinary lover exhibits qualities of humility, compassion and honor. The mind of an extraordinary lover is strong and deep like that of an ocean. He exhibits mental toughness with single-minded focus to be present wherever he is. He lets go of the past while bringing nothing but a listening for greatness and commitment to a conversation.

You have only one true purpose:

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Every person on this planet regardless of their age, race, creed, or sex has truly only one purpose and that is to find your purpose in life. You are of the very essence of your creator, and therefore realizing your true self, your highest self by reconnecting with the source of all consciousness then becomes your only purpose in life. Self-realization or raising your consciousness to transcend the space of physical consciousness is therefore God- realization.  The question then is how does one realize one’s true self?

All the scriptures from the east and west have the same message which is to come in contact with the Son of God, a perfect Guru, an adept master in whom the God power or Christ power is fully personified who if he takes mercy on our soul can guide us on this spiritual journey of oneness with divine consciousness. Once such a master initiates you on this path, you will have the access to the inner kingdom which is the abode of God. All then is required of us is to live by his commandments and meditate on the mantra given to us by tapping into the seat of consciousness (the third eye, or the shiv netra) and this will ensure that we accelerate on our journey to Self-realization.

Tip: “When thine eye be single, you shall see light”

The Goal of all Goals is Love

Friday, August 21st, 2009

A prominent Nobel laureate after being felicitated with a Nobel award stated that ‘It was a consolation prize and what he was looking for was love’. This makes me conclude that the deepest desire of each and every human being is to be loved and loved unconditionally. Most of us however operate from a state of EGO (Edging God Out) or identity, and sometimes we could go through a lifetime without honoring our deepest desire – which is experiencing love. Consider that, when all said and done, with all the surface identity tactics of looking good, achieving success, feeling good is the pursuit of being loved.

Love has been defined by sages and seers alike over the years as the absence of selfishness between two individuals. There are only four questions that matter in this realm:

  • What is it that spirit is made of?
  • What is it that’s worth living for?
  • What is it that’s worth dying for?
  • What is it that’s sacred?

Your Highest Purpose

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

We all have been bestowed with certain unique gifts that when nurtured and cultivated enable us to live a life of full self-expression and joy on this planet. Discovering these gifts and strengths should then become our default mission in our lives. However, it is important to realize that the outcome of discovering these gifts is to then use them for the greater good of this planet. It is okay to take care of one’s desires and personal ambitions but truly what brings fulfillment is when we make a contribution to someone’s life. When someone’s life is transformed as a result of your endeavor, know that someone up there is watching and takes pride in her creation. If you tune in, you could probably hear her say: He is my boy or She is my girl!

I am going to share something really radical out here: Consider that discovering your gifts and living life fully and contributing to the planet is still not our true purpose. The ultimate purpose for each one of us is to realize that we are not human doings but human beings who are essentially spiritual consciousness at the molecular level enjoying a human existence. The true purpose then is to go back to our divine source which is to merge with the all pervading consciousness. In other words, being fully self realized.

Therefore consider that it is the privilege and honor to come in contact with a perfect master who can initiate you on this path of self-realization. History is replete with examples of Saints and Sinners alike who spent many years of their lives searching for a master. A true master is the embodiment of divine love and has meditated on the higher self to merge with GOD. He/She is not separate from GOD and has the same GOD power, Guru Power or Christ power working through him.

Don’t Ask and Receive everything

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

The popular aphorism states that ‘Ask and you shall receive’, and I think it definitely enables us to strengthen our faith in the Supreme Being. We as human beings are wired in ways that we tend to be subconsciously attracted to people and beings we perceive to be of higher value. Our faith in the Supreme Being is directly proportional to the belief that we can receive possessions and blessings from a higher source if we pray and ask for it. For instance, if our intentions become manifested through prayer then our faith strengthens, and if it does not then it dwindles. Similarly when a crisis hits and we have run out of all options, then we revert to the higher source with prayers and requests, and when things are going great, then seldom do we pray or worship the Supreme Being.

This approach is fundamentally flawed when one is committed to rising into higher realms of consciousness. It is said ‘GOD’ has everything that he wants and in abundance and for a devotee who sincerely prays and asks he never disappoints. GOD’s delays are not GOD’s denials!

However, what GOD is in search of is a true devotee who has no other aspiration for any possessions of this materialistic world. And his or her only focus is the love of GOD. And to him/her the world is given.

Are you a Muni?

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

I was watching a reenactment of the traditional Indian classic ‘Mahabharata’ yesterday, where Lord Krishna and Arjun discuss the philosophy of living and it occurred to me that we make life more complex than it needs to be. All we really need to get is that being detached from the materialistic world is the secret to bliss, and that is a sign of a ‘Muni

Lord Krishna addresses Arjun’s questions on who is a Muni and how does one recognize such a person. Here are the five qualities of a Muni:

1. She realizes that as a Karma Yogi, the only control she has is over her actions and not the fruit of her actions

Are you in an abundance state of mind?

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

The paradox of life is that the universe is a reflection of you. It is a mirror to your thoughts, feelings and the way you are being. There is an electro-magnetic field force that exists around us, that transmits energy vibrations to the universe, which gets reflected back to us in kind. You may have experienced this unusual phenomenon in your own life. For instance, when you think about a certain important endeavor, either buying an object or taking on a new opportunity, you start seeing signs for it’s fulfillment everywhere around you.  Let’s say you decide to buy a brand new S class Mercedes Benz and dang you start seeing the same model everywhere around you. Or you think of someone near and dear to you, and voila you get a text or a phone call from them. It doesn’t matter if you have spoken to them in ages or only a few days ago. Are you with me so far?

Your most dominant thought is what creates your reality. Let me see if I can explain it another way. If you are in a state of mind, where you are feeling upset, resentful or cynical, you will notice situations around you reflecting that. If you transmute negative thoughts, then you attract the negative outcomes.

Quantum physics calls this phenomena the ‘Observer’s effect’. In other words, you see and attract events and people into your life that what you choose to observe. You are the source of your reality. You create your own experience. You are the author of how life occurs to you.

Living a Divine Life

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Doing is a state of deliberate effort, where as being is a state of natural flow. While doing is often times a struggle, being is when right actions emanate and words flow through you with effortless ease. In the ancient Vedic tradition, there is a certain hierarchy of levels that one goes through before they tap into a higher state of awareness.

The four levels in the order of their divinity:

Doing - This is the lowest level of consciousness when the effort and direction is focused on controlling and getting attached to the outcome
Thinking – This is the second lowest level where one uses conscious creative thinking to cause a result. This also a variation of doing.
Feeling - This is the second highest state of awareness where intending causes manifestation of a result – Another subtle variation of doing
Being - This is the highest level of self awareness where there is no attachment, and no desire- the person is in a state of joy, peace, and full self-expression, and there is no doing, it is pure consciousness and you become a faucet for the source of divine radiance to flow through you
